KAWS Companion (Passing Through) at High Museum Atlanta
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, will premiere an exhibition by graffiti artist KAWS in February. Earlier today, I got a chance to check out KAWS’ 16-foot sculpture, Companion (Passing Through), in the piazza of the High Museum. I’ve been a fan of KAWS’ work for years; way before his artwork appeared on Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak (2008) album, so to see his work in person was pretty impressive.
While shooting pictures of the Companion (Passing Through) statue, I noticed it was well-received by passers-by of the Woodruff Arts Center, especially kids. There were so many people taking pictures of the KAWS piece that I had to wait 15 minutes just to take a few good shots of it…gggrrrrr! Enjoy.
The KAWS: Downtime exhibition will be held at the High Museum of Art from February 18 through May 27, 2012.
